Jack's Story

I adopted Jack (ACES Larry) in 2008 and he has come a long way since he was found a as a stray in Alabama. He seemed to have been harshly trained as he is terrified of loud noises, sudden movements and has been fearful of some men. He has gained a lot of confidence and has become comfortable with his sleeping space issues. He is now able to sleep on the bed and I can even reach out to him in the night without fear of biting. He sleeps very soundly now, his eyes shut tight, snoring loudly. He always wakes me up in the morning to snuggle.

Jack is very expressive with his paws when he is trying to get my attention. He starts by slowing swinging one paw, peering over his nose, then before long he is standing on his hind legs and waving both arms wildly like a windmill. It is laugh-out-loud-funny. When I bend down to ask him what he wants he just bows his head and leans in gently for a hug.

If I am giving Jack's dog sibling Oskar too much attention he starts to yawn and stretch his body between us gently breaking things up so he gets more hugs and kisses. I am sure he had survived before his rescue just on his good looks and this sweet charm.

I will be forever grateful to ACES for rescuing Jack and bringing him into my life. He makes me smile every day. I can't imagine my life without him.
