Re: Welcome to ACES

Stumled upon your website on accident and I am instantly in love! My husband and I are proud "parents" of a field setter, Calli, and we are also quite partial to this breed - there's none better than a setter!!
I was instantly interested in adopting because I have always had an interest in resuing a dog. We live in a log home with 34 acres of property - it is a field dog's paradise! I was sooo disappointed to read that we had to have a fence to adopt, though! Calli is never on a leash when outside. I respect your point of view on this, but was just saddened to know I couldn't persue possible adoption any further because of this.
Continued luck and many blessings to ACES and all of your setters! Perhaps I will look into volunteer work with you. Good to find you! Lisa

Hello

I came across this site, while doing some research.

A year ago my husband bought me my first setter for Valentines. She is the best gift I have ever received. Truly a gift that keeps on giving.

Our "first born" dog had passed away and my husband is away most of the time. I wasn't ready for a dog as I was grieving the loss of our other dog. I was also unsure because we have another senior dog.

Our other dog took to the puppy immediately. She actually plays with her and never plays with any dog and even hates puppies.

We all love our ES so much. I cannot imagine life without her.

We named her Lady Jane Valentine.

God Bless and keep up the good work, rescuing this amazing breed.

Interested in possibly adopting

I loved viewing the available and already adopted dogs, and knowing that the adopted ones have found
there forever homes. Hopefully, my husband and I will consider adopting within the upcoming months.
We already have adopted an ESSpaniel and love him
dearly. I would like to get a buddy for him, (Jack).

Re: Welcome to ACES

We have were a family of five, including two four legged loves..both English Setters. This past November we gave up one of our loves,Sarah, to be with God..we miss her everyday and hope to find a companion for her sister Belle. We will always have a soft spot for these beautiful dogs. We greatly appreciate the efforts of others who love them as much as we do

Toby

I just lost my beloved setter, Toby, right after Christmas. He was the most wonderful, alert, loving dog a person could have. I miss him terribly! After I heal a little from his loss, I hope to bring another Setter into my life. They are such bright and loving dogs!
Thanks for the good work you do on behalf of Setters!!!

Zeke

We adopted Zeke from ACES in July and he has snuggled into our hearts. He loves his walks with Jim around our neighborhood. He looks forward to playing with the children across the street who draw beautiful pictures of their friend Zeke. He spends his days chasing the squirrels in the backyard. He does play hide and seek with our two cats. Shoes cannot be left around or they will be his snack. But, most of all , he loves snuggling up on the sofa and watching TV with Jim amd me.

Shia

I recently adopted a dog from my local animal shelter who was being labeled as a dalmatian. Little did we know, this dog would turn out to be the most loving English Setter and best friend we will ever have! I never knew this breed existed until our little boy, Shia, came along!! I completely agree that the English Setter is the best kept secret of the dog world 100 percent! Thank you so much for this wonderful organization, these Setters deserve the best homes!

Up until six months ago we had two setters...Casey and Tucker. We lost our Casey to a tumor that was unknown and just too massive. Tucker is slowly recovering from alot of separation anxiety that only became known when we realized how much weight he was losing. My wife and I still daily mourn the loss of our buddy, and think maybe we will adopt another member to our house in the future. You all do a wonderful job for the most wonderful breed of dogs on the planet. God bless.
