The day couldn't have been better, the people couldn't have been nicer, and the setters couldn't have been happier! On August 9, ACES adopters, foster parents and their setters came together from as far as 17 hours away to join in the fun at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, KY.
We spent the day making new friends and catching up with old ones...and the dogs did the same! After a delicious lunch and the long-awaiting drawing of raffle prizes, everyone headed over to the fenced dog park to do what setters do best, go birding! It was a joy to watch them bound across the field, stand watch under trees, and plunge into the woods in search of critters. If the saying, "A tired setter is a good setter" holds true, then the best dogs in the country were in Louisville that night!
A big round of applause goes to the ACES Reunion Committee for a fantastic day. Congratulations to the families and setters that won the many on-site raffle items and baskets. And "Hooray!" for the lucky winners of our three large raffle prizes:
Setter Tote: Barb Eyler
Annabelle's Quilt: Michelle Eastman
Orvis Dog Bed: JC & Trish Sowers
Thank you to everyone who bought tickets. This year's fundraising efforts brought in more than $1,200. And a great big thank you to all of the folks who came to the Reunion and shared your furkids with us...you made our day!
