Meet Newton, a handsome 4 year old orange belton that is eagerly awaiting the chance to be your new best friend. He is an absolute delight and is full of personality. He can be quite the talkative boy, who loves to share his opinion with you through various setter roos, harumphs, sighs and an occasional bark. Watch Newton express his opinion about not getting his share of my dinner

As you can probably see from his pictures, Newton is still growing his hair back after a case of dermatitis and he's getting more setter spots popping up in his coat every day. His feathers are also coming in, slowly but surely. He's been nicknamed 'Groceries' as he continues to get his weight back up to a normal level. He will probably end up at around 65 pounds.

Newton is a playful pup and enjoys a good walk or game with his humans or fellow canine companions each day. Watch Newton playing at the dog park.  He’s gotten along with everyone he has met, people and dogs alike. He is not well-suited to a house with cats as he thinks they are for chasing and hunting. While not aggressive, he can fixate on them enough to make the cat feel harassed. As a big boy, Newton doesn’t quite understand his own size at times and is best suited to playing with older children or adults. At the quiet moments of the day he is quite content to lay by your feet while working or curled up next to you on the couch. He likes to spend time with his humans above all else, though bird and squirrel chasing in the backyard is a close second.

Newton is getting a refresher on his basic obedience commands. The foundation is there, he just need some consistency to get them polished. He is completely house-trained and will even come notify you if he needs a trip to the backyard for a bathroom break. He has begun crate training but is fine being left to his own devices in the house.

Check out Newton's poor me routine, which he uses frequently when he wants a spot on the couch or a piece of that apple you're eating. You can’t help but fall in love with his happy demeanor. Newton wiggles his way into the heart of everyone he meets.
