Nikki is just the happiest little girl!  At 18 months old, she still acts like a puppy, finding fun wherever she goes.  Her 33 pounds are packed into a small frame.  You’ll find that little body either bounding across your backyard or curled tight in a soft spot in the house.

Nikki is deaf so when she came to us, she really didn’t have a way to understand her humans.  We have been teaching her sign language and she is starting to watch us more.  Nikki is learning our signs for “good dog,” “sit,” “come,” “quit it,” “hi puppy,” and “I love you.”  We are thrilled that she now comes running to the back door as soon as she sees us in the doorway.  We are also working on getting her to wait at the door since she can slip by you before you know she’s out of the house.  Because she is deaf, Nikki will need a physical fence, not an invisible fence, at her adoptive home.

Nikki is friends with everyone.  Nikki loves people and every dog is a potential playmate.  Nikki gives it all she’s got when she plays.  She would love to have a furry sibling that wants to play as much as she does.  Nikki thinks cats are fun too.  She and the resident cat play hide and seek at night before bed.  Nikki also loves to engage with her people.  All you have to do is throw a ball or a toy and Nikki is happy to chase.  Nikki doesn’t operate at high speed all the time; she’s also a professional cuddler.  She settles down when in the house, curling up beside you or at your feet.  If you are on the move, she’ll hang out in a dog bed or easy chair.

Nikki’s joy of life is infectious.  She will bring happiness to any family.  And this little girl deserves all the joy that a family can give her in return.

Margaret & Bob Radford hope that sweet little Nikki is soon sharing her joy of life with a loving forever family!
