Zeke is a typical 3 year old field setter who loves to run, romp and play. His favorite place is the local dog park where he can run at full speed and show off how sporty he is. Zeke is beautiful to watch as he uses all three acres of the dog park. Of course, the first thing he does when he arrives is to go on hunt and check out every edge of the park for critters. He then falls in with the more athletic dogs and does some long-distance running with them. While Zeke is fine with other dogs, the same cannot be said for Zeke and cats. Zeke gets much too excited when cats are around.
Zeke is very smart and responds well to positive reinforcement training. He knows sit and stay and will come in from the backyard in response to a clicker/whistle. Zeke is house-trained and crate-trained. Since he enjoys being in his crate, we crate him when we are gone during the day. Just say, “Kennel up!” and Zeke will go right in and wait until you get back home. Zeke has free roam of the house at night. He sleeps at the foot of the bed.
When Zeke was originally found in Kentucky, he had heartworm disease. He has since been treated and tested negative in September. We also found that Zeke does best on a limited ingredient or hypoallergenic food. As you can tell by his current energy level and good weight of 45 lbs, Zeke is now a healthy and happy boy.
Zeke loves everyone and responds beautifully to lots of attention and praise. He plays with rope toys and likes to chew on hard bones but will tear up smaller, furry toys. After a hard day of play, Zeke loves to cuddle and snuggle up with his family. He really loves to have his ears and belly massaged. Zeke has so much love to give. Are you ready for some of his love?
Zeke gives a big "Roo" of thanks to Holly Christensen & Steve Krogulecki for their support as he patiently waits for his forever home.
Tracey & Allan Fogwill hope that handsome Zeke is soon playing with toys and snuggling up with a forever family very soon!
Doug & Karen Moreno hopes Zeke soon finds a loving forever home where he can have his ears and belly massaged to his heart's content!
