Sven is a handsome orange and white 8 yr. old, 45 pound male setter.  Sven had somehow found himself in a shelter, but since coming to ACES he has blossomed into a healthy and happy boy.

If you are looking for a buddy, you’ve found your boy. Sven will gladly stand beside you through thick and thin - especially if you have treats.  He likes people and likes to show affection.  Sven is undemanding and an easy-going boy and he always has a smile on his face.  He loves baths and to be brushed.  At eight years old, Sven is plenty lively and likes to run around in the backyard chasing critters with his foster siblings, a female and two male English Setters.  He is playful but past the craziness of a younger setter.  Click here to see a video of Sven playing outside with his foster sister, Marie.

Sven loves everyone he meets.  He is doing great on basic commands, is house trained and good with other dogs. He ignored the cats at the vet's office and wasn't nervous when a young child came up to him.  Sven is not, however, in a home with children or cats.  He loves to go for walks through the neighborhood and park; does very well on a leash and rides well in the car.  Sven has good house manners but we are working on his counter-surfing.   Click here to see a video of Sven inside the house.

Sven is an extremely sweet guy who deserves a great home and a buddy to smile with him every day!  Are you ready to be his buddy?

Here is an update from Sven's foster mom:  I was out in the yard with Sven and my neighbors noticed I had a new foster.  They asked, "Oh, who is the older setter foster you have? He is a sweetheart!" Several neighbors were out and about, so one of them said, "All of us like Sven; come on over to our house; I'm sure Annie will bring Sven with her." Six of us were all together, with Sven in tow.  Sven is such a gentleman, even in a big group of people.  He did all of his basic commands perfectly.  Everyone said, "He might be a senior but he is one of the best dogs anyone could ever want!".  I am so proud of Sven.
