Katey is a sweet 48-pound liver and white girl who adapted quickly to the routine of her foster home. She is six years old and gets along very well with the two setters in the home, one an eight-year-old male and the other a four-year-old female. She is thriving in her foster home; more of her personality comes out each day.

Katey was originally a kenneled hunting dog, but she became an indoor family dog when she was three years old.  Her family found themselves in circumstances that did not allow them to take care of her, so Katey came into rescue.

She is healthy and in very good shape. She can sit and shake hands and is very, very happy when it’s time for a treat. She is housetrained (no “accidents” to date in her foster home) and crate-trained, going in willingly when her foster family leaves and happily settling down at night in the crate in her foster parent’s room where all the other furry friends sleep as well. She even sometimes goes in her open crate to nap.

Katey enjoys toys, especially Nylabones. She runs and plays outside with the other dogs in the household, chasing squirrels and looking for chipmunks. She likes to be outside in the big yard and has been fine with the 5 foot fence. She seems just as happy inside with her foster family where she settles nicely, lying on the floor or on the sofa with one of the other dogs.

She is fascinated with the cat in her foster home, even “setting” him from time to time. For that reason, she would do best in a home without a cat. She absolutely loves her walks with the whole foster pack with some pulling on the leash. But with training and practice, she could become a very good walker.

Katey will be a really good pet and so deserves a family she can spend the rest of her days with. She is a joy to have around with a beautiful spotted face, happy expression and a solid body that wiggles with happiness and hope.

Tracey and Allan Fogwill hope that sweet Katey will find her loving forever home very soon!

Mary Hedlund-Blomberg hopes that Katey is wiggling her way into the hearts of her forever family soon!
