Bridgette is an affectionate, active and smart 8-year-old, orange and white female, weighing 39 pounds.  She is housebroken, walks on a leash well, and is very friendly and eager to please. Bridgette loves everyone and is a happy lady who so wants to be a part of a family. She seems to love children and is especially fond of hanging out with them in the family room. She deals with cats by simply ignoring them.

Bridgette is allowed free roam of her foster house most of the time and hasn't disturbed anything. She does not like nor do well in a crate.  She becomes very anxious and agitated when confined in one.  This is not an issue because she has proven trustworthy in the house.  Bridgette’s new family should not plan on crating her.

She gets along with her canine foster siblings and will share the sofa or the sunny spot in the door.  She does offer the two younger setters in the household a word of discipline when they get too rough and rowdy in her space when indoors. It took her about a week to get used to their high energy antics.  Bridgette is more comfortable around older, calmer dogs.  She likes to run and play with all the dogs outdoors, flushing birds, squirrels and anything else interesting. She is a birdy girl and keeps up with the younger setters with no problems.

Bridgette has made it over the four-foot split rail fence at her foster home. Her new family will need to make sure their fence will prove secure for Bridgette when Bridgette is outside. We recommend at least a 6 foot privacy fence for Bridgette.

As with most setters, Bridgette really enjoys being inside with her foster family and likes to cuddle and interact. She sleeps on her own doggie bed in her foster parent’s room all night and does not get up to roam around. She rides quietly in the car.

Bridgette is just a joy to have around.  She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She would do well with a family who has had dogs before and is familiar with their specific needs, as well as someone who is able to spend a good part of the day with her. Bridgette so deserves a loving family as she gracefully moves into her life’s second act.  She has many years and lots of love to share and will reward anyone willing to welcome her into their home.

Debra O'Day hopes that beautiful Bridgette finds a loving forever home where she can run and play safely outside and get lots of cuddles inside!
