Hi, my name is Jake, and here's my story. I'm 7 years-old and have been with the same family all of my life, but they had to move into an apartment and couldn't take me with them. That was pretty tough for me since I didn't understand what was going on. But since I'm a resiliant boy, I adjusted pretty quickly into my ACES foster home.
In case you're interested, my first family taught me a lot of things. I know how to sit, lay down, stay, and go to my kennel when someone tells me to. I grew up around children of all ages, and I would love nothing more than to be part of a big family again. People also keep asking me about cats – I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I think I might like to chase them! And believe you me, I LOVE birds!! I think the other four legged critters are a fun diversion, but honestly, I really like the birds. I would also like to take this opportunity to say, please don't be fooled by my age. Some people might think that seven is too old, but I am the perfect age! I don't go for any of those naughty puppy behaviors like chewing on things or making messes in the house (although I might check out the counters when you're not looking). I'm old enough to know better, but yet I still have a lot of energy for running and playing. I enjoy playing during the day, but I love to snuggle any time, day or night, and best of all, I'll let you get a full night's rest!
My foster parents took me to the off-leash dog park recently. They were so proud of me because I made them look good in front of the other pet owners. I got along so well with the people and the dogs, and most importantly, came when I was called, my foster parents told me that I can go back any time.
So to sum it all up, I’m Jake, I’m gorgeous (if I do say so myself). I’m well behaved. And I love kids! And I love old people, too! Okay, I guess I just love everybody, so please consider adopting me into your family so we can all grow old together.
Mary Loots hopes that Jake will be chasing birds and finding lots of love in a forever home very soon!
