Liana is a bright and happy spirit! This three-year old was found and picked up by animal control alongside her traveling companion, a pointer, who had been hit by a car. She would not leave his side, hence her name "Liana," youthful guardian.

When she arrived, she weighed only 29 lbs. on a regular-sized setter frame, and had been pretty infested with fleas and ticks. She also had a respiratory infection that caused her to wheeze and cough. She was a sick, little girl. But a good consistent diet, a safe and dry place to sleep, and a round of antibiotics has done wonders for her. She is now up to 33 lbs., eating regular meals and full of zest and energy.

Liana gets along well with others. She loves to run and play, both in the backyard and the house, with her foster brother, and enjoys the company of an adult cat. She has been around children, and has shown nothing but her consistent, congenial personality. She loves people and other animals. She plays hard during the day, and then becomes the perfect lap dog during the evening. Liana loves belly rubs, and laying in the chair with her foster father, but does not get on furniture without being invited, and has shown no interest in people food.

She appears to have been a pet at some point in her life. While she does not know basic commands (sit, down, come, stop), she is comfortable in a house, and has been extremely easy to refresh into house-training. She has had no leash training, but walks reasonably well on a leash equipped with a harness. She will sleep in a crate, and does not have any hesitation to being put there for 2-3 hours during the day. She's a country girl. She likes to get up at sunrise and go to bed at sunset.

Liana is an excellent dog and will make any family a warm and wonderful pet.
