At 11 months old, Gracie is 100% pure puppy. And, at 35 pounds, she is a gorgeous little setter. Gracie broke her leg in August and after surgery to repair the break, eight weeks of leash-only restriction, and intensive physical therapy, Gracie is back and better than ever! With full use of her leg now, she has been enjoying the freedom to explore again.
Gracie is an absolute sweetheart. She gets along with every person and every dog she meets. She stole the show at our elementary school's Halloween Parade and seemed to love the crowd that formed around her. Being under a year, Gracie can still be "naughty but nice." Gracie does like to chew and will chew anything that is around her if left unattended. She is easily redirected with an appropriate toy but, even with the toys, she has to be watched. Gracie loves to rough house with the three children here. She can get a little carried away so she would probably do best with kids 5 and older. She is an absolute attention lover and returns your affection with her own hug and kisses to your ear!
Gracie has been doing fine with a 4 foot split rail fence. She is very birdy so she does need some work outside to learn her name and to come in from the yard. She is just about all potty trained now and is getting the hang of that pretty fast. She didn't seem to have any experience indoors and has quickly adapted to being an indoor dog. She is crate trained and is fine with staying there or in the laundry room when we leave. She sleeps at night in the crate and is ready to go as soon as anyone begins to stir.
Gracie has a lot of energy being a young setter but is very willing to please. Gracie will need some additional training, but she is a smart girl and a positive-reinforcement obedience class will be perfect for her. This sweet little girl is looking for a forever family that will play with her and give her lots of exercise and attention. In return, Gracie will wiggle right into your heart with her beautiful little face and personality.
Jeffrey Headley hopes that sweet Gracie will wiggle herself into the hearts of a forever family very soon!
