Say hello to sweet, shy Meadow, estimated to be 1 year old. She's a bit on the thin side, weighing a slight 36 pounds, but she's healthy, has a hearty appetite and has yet to turn down a treat!
Meadow is a fitting name for her because the first few days she was with us she spent most of her time playing hide-and-seek in the zinnia garden. She was bashful and unsure of herself but after only a few days she warmed up to not only her new foster family and surroundings but her foster sisters, Lucy and Chloe.
Even though she's really still a pup, Meadow is a low-key, quiet girl who is happy to hang out in her crate when she's not outside. Or she's happy to snuggle close to your feet or on the couch--all she needs is your permission and she'll follow your lead. She does prefer to sleep in her crate at night and at bedtime will go in there without any prompting.
When she's outside, she and Chloe have a great time chasing each other and playing tug-of-war with their toys. Meadow isn't particularly birdie, but the few times she's noticed them she's made impressive jumps up our six-foot fence.
Meadow is hesitant to meet new people and is sensitive to loud noises but it only takes a bit of patience and gentle coaxing to make her feel secure. She has excellent house manners--no barking, jumping or counter surfing. She is wonderful with children and other dogs. We're working on voice commands and leash training and with her eager-to-please attitude we don't think it would take long for her to master these skills.
Wherever you want Meadow, she will go! This little girl is an absolute delight. She's just waiting on her forever family to find her and give her the loving home she deserves.
Lee Miller hopes that Meadow finds a loving forever home very soon!
