Birdie is a two year old, 38 lb setter who is happy-go-lucky, affectionate and may be the sweetest setter you'll ever meet. She's a classic setter with high energy and birdie traits, but she settles easily after a good romp in the yard or walk around the park. She absolutely loves to snuggle on the couch with us, especially at night.

The first thing in the morning, she wants to head outside and check out the birds and squirrels and will spend hours out there with her foster sister. They like to nip, play and chase and play tug of war with their toys. She doesn't dig in the yard and rarely barks, unless she's ready to come inside. Now that the weather is nice, she'll usually lay down and relax and enjoy the sunshine. She's not that interested in a game of fetch but would rather chew on one of her favorite toys.

Birdie is gentle and friendly with everyone of all ages and has excellent manners with children--no jumping, licking or pawing. She's so happy to be petted and have everyone's attention. She loves meeting new people and new dogs. She is curious yet calm on a leash.
Birdie is a petite little girl, mostly because she's picky about her food. She's not too excited about dry food and will eat it one morsel at a time. She would much rather have canned food, but we're helping her to transition. She started out trying to counter surf but after just a couple of times she learned that's not good house manners. We're working on commands like sit and heel and she's doing well, she's just not that interested in treats as a reward. She's a quick learner who's motivated by long as you give her praise and love, she'll behave wonderfully.
She's quite calm in the house and at night she sleeps in her crate. She will sleep through the night but likes to wake up as soon as she hears the birds chirping. She's doing well with house training even though we don't think she's spent much time as an inside pet.
Birdie is an easy-going, playful sweetheart who will thrive in a family able to give her lots of love and attention.
