A sweet and distinguished gentleman, Winston is a 42-pound gem. He is a smaller setter with a roundish belly giving him a very charming little waddle. He is super eager to snuggle up next to you on the couch for some belly rubs, resting his head on your lap. Winston loves attention and loves to meet new people. He settles in quickly to new situations and does well with other dogs.
As a mature dog, Winston is moderately active. Outside he takes a few quick laps around the yard and then likes to sit and watch the world pass by. He likes to chase balls and enjoys his toys inside too. He’s working on his leash manners. At the vet, he basically laid down on the floor and took a nap while he waited to be seen.
People who meet Winston love his perky personality and sweet nature. Healthy and happy, he’s ready to meet his forever home.
Jerry Mead and Patty Thompson hope you find the loving home of your dreams real soon!
WINSTON'S SUCCESS STORY (7/10)
I just want to let you all know that Winston and I have had a wonderful first week together. He is the best, sweetest, easiest dog (I once had a goldfish that was more trouble than Winston). He seems to have settled in so quickly and appears well-adjusted, happy and thriving. His eyes are bright and his tail just wags and wags.
He's a great companion and cuddler. We've been shopping together at Petco and the auto parts store. During a thunderstorm on Friday night, he kept his entire length snuggled up against me, though he didn't really seem frightened. Winston is as bright as a new penny. After just one walk around the park across the street, he knew which house is ours. Winston keeps very busy, manning his posts at the front door and in the back yard. He doesn't miss much. He had his first vet visit on Wednesday and was a perfect angel.
Thank you all for your help in bringing my boy home!
ACES Winston came home to my heart in July, 2010. In August, he needed surgery for a mast cell tumor. Today I'm thrilled to say Winston is doing well and is the apple of my eye! Thanks to all of you who brought Winston to me. Also, thanks to Laura and Doug B., local ACES adopters, who volunteered their time to do my home visit. Happy Holidays!
