This is Jake – a very happy 2 year old, 44 pound tri-color setter boy with beautiful coloring who was probably never in a home before.  He has certainly adjusted well to home life, though; just take a look at his pictures!  He loves cuddling up on the sofa next to his foster parents or just finding an empty spot to curl up in.

He wasn’t housetrained when he arrived and he didn’t know any commands.  We are working on housetraining – he gets the idea but still has an occasional mistake.  He learned “sit” easily and “comes” well.  He is totally crate trained and can be put in the crate even when we are in the same room.  He doesn’t love to go in, but once in, he settles down without a word.  He also sleeps in a crate at night and never lets out a peep until morning.

Jake loves to be outside.  He is curious and happy and enjoys exploring.  He does really well on a leash (we use a harness), and gets very excited when he knows we’re going for a walk.  He enjoys being inside too, so it’s never a problem getting him to come back in.  He doesn’t show any desire to jump the fence, and while he’s interested in critters, he not overly “birdie”.

We have a basket of toys and he loves getting them out and throwing them around.  He is still young, so he does chew some of them.  We just take those away and give him something that is indestructible.  He’s happy with almost anything.

He plays with his foster siblings and doesn’t have a mean or jealous bone in his body.  He’s not a barker – both his foster siblings are – he will just occasionally let out a bark if something startles him.  We don’t have children, but Jake has been in contact with a number of kids during walks and is gentle and loving towards them.

Jake is so lovable and sweet.  He just melts your heart when you look at him.  He is looking for his forever family and can hardly wait to find them.  If you want a darling, precious boy, Jake is definitely the one!

Pam Miller hopes that sweet Jake will be cuddling on the sofa with his forever family soon!
