Rusty is a three year old orange and white English Field Setter. He is a sweet, handsome, and loving, such a gentle soul. All he wants in the world is to be loved! He is house-trained and crate-trained and very smart! When he needs to go outside, he will alert you by barking.

Rusty is full of energy and loves to be walked and play fetch. One of his favorite activities is to chase after birds and butterflies. True to his breeding, he will set and point when he has spotted a bird which is truly a remarkable sight to behold. Sometimes he gets a bit excited and will jump up to greet you but responds very well to corrections. He is accustomed to going for long walks and does very well on a Gentle Leader. Rusty is the type of dog that should be kept on leash. If given the chance, he will take off into the woods in search of adventure. Therefore, it is really important to make sure he has a fenced in yard to play in and kept on leash when walked. He has lots of fun running around in the fenced in yard, playing with his squeaky toys and ball or chewing on a raw hide bone. Car rides are fun too!

Rusty is a dog that loves to be around people and thrives on human interaction. When left alone, he will whimper and cry because he just wants your love and attention. No signs of separation anxiety, just a bit of missing his people. Rusty is a very easy going dog. He sleeps on the couch with my two beagles and loves playing with his Pomeranian friend. He also likes to sleep in your bed but will also go in a crate and settle down for the night. Rusty just loves to cuddle! He is such an affectionate dog and his big brown eyes will melt your heart.

Rusty needs a home where his owner can devote the time and energy that he requires and deserves. An ideal home for Rusty would be one where his owner can be home a good part of the day, for example someone who works from home or who works part-time.

Rusty is a love and we want to see him find his permanent home with owners who will give him all the love, time, stimulation, and attention that he deserves. When you adopt Rusty you will have gained the most amazing, gentle, and loving companion.

Jeffrey Headley hopes that Rusty finds his perfect forever home very soon!
