Sara is an energetic young girl. She's quite skinny, mostly because she burns off most of what she eats. Still full of puppy playfulness, Sara loves to point butterflies and flying insects, and will spend her time happily running around the yard with her soccer ball (or a plastic pot, bucket, or foam knee pad). She enjoys playdates and often outruns the other dogs. When really excited, she'll jump over (sometimes on, but mostly over) the other dogs with either a flying leap or using the springs in her feet. She's been seen going from a stand-still to doing a side jump right over her 35 pound foster brother.
When she first came to her foster home, Sara would only put her front feet on the furniture. But now that she knows it is okay, she'll get up for a snuggle. At night, she usually sleeps curled up next to her foster mom. Sara's a quick learner, and picked up "shake" and "crawl" just by watching her foster brother perform. She is very sweet and really wants to please.
Sara is still a puppy. She romps around the house with toys and tries to get her foster brother to play. She will paw him or jump until he plays back. She is learning that while it is okay to get on the couch or the bed, they are not meant for rowdy behavior.
Sara will also entertain herself with dog toys. She loves toys and often greets her foster mom with a toy (or two) in her mouth, or grabs one as soon as she gets out of the crate. Sometimes that "toy" is a shoe or towel, but she hasn't chewed anything up (yet). But because of that, she is crated when alone for long periods of time. Though not a problem barker, Sara will bark to tell you that somebody is outside or if she hears a strange noise.
With love from me (Sandra Witten) and my two setters, Tiger and Annie
