Polly is a 1 year old orange and white field setter with deep brown eyes and LOTS of ticking. Her personality can be summed up in one word: carefree! When she first came to us, she seemed a little hesitant, but that only lasted about 2 minutes. After that, she was bounding around the backyard playing with her new foster sister.
Polly didn’t need time to “get with the program” because she already seemed to know what the program was! She seemed quite comfortable with our daily routine right from the start. As a matter of fact, she fit in so well that, on our first day of work, we gave Polly the run of the house (as we do with the rest of our pets) and there were NO problems when we got home (and none since)!
She gets along nicely with our other dog and 3 cats. In our care, she hasn’t been around small children, but is quite comfortable with our teenage son. Like most setters, she’s quite interested in birds and squirrels.
Polly is housetrained, but we haven‘t tried crating her, so we don‘t know how she‘d do with that. She has learned how to sit, look and is now in the process of mastering “lay down.” Polly was pulling on the leash on walks, but we started using a head halter and now she's walking much better. When she passes other dogs, she wags her tail.
Polly is easy-going and has a very sweet personality. She’ll be a wonderful addition to any forever family which will nurture and care for her. Are you that family?
We hope you'll find your furever home real soon. Steve, Teri and Miss Sydney Sauer
