McDermott is a very loving, sweet-tempered boy that settled quickly into his foster home, with his two foster brothers, also English setters. He was curious about the big bird that lived with them, but quickly learned not to pay it any attention. McDermott likes to chew on rawhides, but has great manners and knows not to chew on anything else.
McDermott can be kenneled but isn't fond of it, and has behaved beautifully when left at home with his foster brothers. Estimated at about 1 year-old, McDermott has some playful puppy in him which makes him a joy to have around, but he can just as easily snooze the afternoon away. He has a big bark and likes to use it while playing or when left alone. Given that McDermott's really just a great big puppy, he really is very well-behaved and adjusts very quickly.
McDermott is house-trained and once he gets your attention, he'll whine to tell you when he needs to go out. He never jumps up on you and was reluctant to get on the furniture, but he quickly learned from his foster brothers. McDermott is curious and counter-surfs at times, but always gets down when asked.
He's a great cuddly dog, very trainable and intelligent, but most of all it's McDermott's sweet, loving personality that tugs on your heart.
McDermott sends his thanks to his friend, Jack Ullstrup
