Introducing Elric, an 1-year old blue field setter.  He weighs in at a small 40 pounds, but he is not small on heart.  He is a vivacious puppy who loves life, has boundless energy, and he wants to spend that energy on you.  Elric is looking for an active home where his enthusiasm will be appreciated.  Because of his excitability, Elric would be best in a home with children over the age of 7.  Elric has quite a soft mouth when waiting for his favorite treat ... ice cubes.  He will come running when he hears that freezer open.

Elric loves being part of a family, running, playing and cuddling.  He is learning patience, basic commands, and he has made a lot of progress since arriving in his foster home.  He is a very smart young man; he likes to learn and loves attention.  Elric will need to continue his education in his forever home with a positive reinforcement-style training class.

Elric is a friendly boy but his intense play style is not often appreciated by other dogs, so he would do best as an only dog.  Elric is a diamond in the rough looking for a patient, energetic family with a good-sized yard to help him realize his full potential.  This handsome boy is just waiting for you to help him learn to be part of your family.

Update from Elric's foster home

Elric has been learning to control his enthusiasm and is fitting in very well.  It has taken quite a while, but he is beginning to learn to get along with his foster siblings.  After a day of play, Elric loves to nap and cannot resist the belly-up style.  He also loves to snuggle with his foster mom on the couch.  Elric became very popular among the other dogs when he found the treat ball at the bottom of the toy box.  No one ever played with it until Elric figured out how to get the kibble out!!!!!  Now it is everyone's new favorite toy and Elric does not mind sharing a few kibbles among friends.  Elric is very interested in the native wildlife but his all-time favorite is squirrels.  What great fun he has watching them jump from tree to tree ... then he runs in to tell everyone what he has found.  Elric will steal your heart.

Elric sends a big thank you to his special friend, Jeffrey Headly!
