This is Miss STELLA. She is a gorgeous 4-5 year old tri-colored girl. She was found wandering the streets; the only thing she had was an old hunter's collar on her neck. A local vet contacted ACES, and with their help Stella received the care she desperately needed. She was spayed and an enlarged teat was removed. She was positive for heartworms but has completed treatment and has come through like a champ.
Stella is a sweet loving girl. Her activity level is a five on a scale of one to ten. She has no problem crashing on the couch or laying on your lap. She does enjoy running in the backyard and sunning herself in the grass. She does not challenge the fence and doesn't seem very birdie. Stella is OK with other dogs; we have three other dogs and she is queen Stella. She is quite tolerant of our 7-month old puppy's antics.
Stella sleeps in a crate at night and when we are gone. I don't think she would have any problem being left out alone. She is house-trained and goes to the door when she needs to go out. She always comes when called.
It is obvious she was treated poorly in the past. The vet had taken some x-rays and found she had been peppered with pellets. Thankfully, it doesn't affect her health, movement or her sweet demeanor. She deserves a loving forever family. I feel she would do well in a family where she won't be left alone in a crate for long periods of time. I think Stella would do well with older children. She is sensitive and responds to consistent, gentle guidance. Her feelings can be easily bruised. She is one of the most special foster dogs we have ever taken in to our home.
Jerry Mead and Patty Thompson hope this sweet girl soon finds the loving home she deserves!
STELLA'S SUCCESS STORY 3/08
Stella is in her forever Memphis home! After a bit of exploring, she settled right in. Thank you all so much for delivering her to us and handling her with care. We've only known her a few hours and we can already tell she's very special!
Thanks again, Kary and Mary
