Meet BOONE, named after Daniel Boone, the great adventurer. We have no idea of the adventures Boone has seen in his 3 years of life, but he was definitely happy to find himself with ACES. When Boone came into rescue, he had heartworms. He has been treated and is now in excellent health. He's on heartworm preventative so that he won't get sick again and has received all of his vaccinations. His adventures now continue as he looks for his forever family.
Boone is muscular, 45 lb, beautifully marked, tricolored setter. This happy boy loves people and wiggles his whole body or dances on his hind legs when he sees you. Outside, he is all setter, dashing around and watching for birds. He has not challenged our 4 foot fence, and he comes when called from the backyard. Inside, he wants to be with his family. He follows his people around and plays with his toys. Boone hangs out with the other dogs at his foster home. Because Boone can be uncertain around new dogs, meeting a potential new sibling prior to adoption would be a good idea. Boone would also be happy to be your one and only.
Boone is housebroken and rides well in a car. He is also crate-trained but has demonstrated that he really does not need to be kept in a crate at night or when left home alone. Boone is a energetic setter so he would not be good with children under the age of 5 or with cats. Boone would do best with an active family with room for him to romp. He knows his name and is eager to learn. He has responded well to positive training in his foster home. We are looking for a family who will provide structure for Boone and will enjoy taking him to an obedience class.
Boone is a bundle of love and he's looking to share it with someone. Will you be the happy ending to his adventures?
You've got special friends who wish you a family of your very own!
