Meet GUNNER, a 2 year-old, 50 lb. orange field setter. Gunner is a goofy good-natured boy who loves life and is full of energy. If you're looking for a jogging partner, Gunner likes nothing more than a good run. However, don't be surprised if he wants to stop a couple times along the way to point a bird. Not a runner? Don't despair. Gunner's a birdy boy who is perfectly happy to hang out in the yard chasing birds, squirrels, and rabbits to his heart's content.
Gunner is house- and crate-trained. He's a good boy in the house and knows to chew on his toys rather than go searching for your family treasures. Gunner is one of those rare rescue dogs who is perfectly happy to play by himself. He entertains himself by throwing his toys up in the air and then catching or chasing them. Then he likes to go outside and look for birds, squirrels, and other critters. Watch him out the back window to see him point along the fence line. After a day of birding in the yard, Gunner loves to curl up on the sofa with you to watch a movie. If you let him, Gunner will climb slowly into your lap for a cuddle but he is also content to lie beside you, hoping for a belly rub. Gunner has such a soft velvety coat that you won't be able to keep your hands off of him.
Through no fault of his own, Gunner has moved from home to home during his first two years. As a result, Gunner bonds quickly and can be protective of his people and treats/toys so he's looking for a home without children. Gunner would be happiest to have all your attention as an only child or with one patient, easy-going doggy sibling who loves to play. Gunner gets along fine with indoor cats.
Gunner has grown weary of traveling and is looking for a place to call home. He dreams of living happily ever after with one family. Gunner can't wait to find a new BFF (best friend forever) of his very own.
Gunner is sponsored by Alexandra Witten and her two well cared for setters, Annie & Tiger
