Meet GUMDROP, a beautiful, happy, healthy, two year old setter girl that is every bit as sweet as her name. Gumdrop was found as a stray, but she appears to have been loved and well cared for in her previous home. She is a little thin from her days running loose, but has a good appetite and is slowly putting on weight. Gumdrop is a very affectionate girl who loves to cuddle, gives great kisses, and stays right by my side everywhere I go in the house, then lays down quietly by my side when I sit down. She likes to play with squeaky toys and chew on bones. She and my female setter love to play together, so Gumdrop would be very happy with another doggie companion that is active and willing to play with her. She would also be fine as an only dog as long as she is with an active person or family that will play with her and take her for long walks.
Gumdrop has excellent house manners, is housetrained, and never touches anything except dog toys. She prefers laying on dog beds rather than getting on furniture, but she will get up on the sofa with you for some snuggle time. Gumdrop sits by my side with her chin on my leg while I am eating, looking at me with those beautiful eyes and just hoping to entice me to give her a bit of my food but she is not pushy about it. She is crate trained, but is so well behaved that she can be left loose in the house without any problems. She loves to take walks, or stay out in the yard watching the birds. Gumdrop is also very well behaved in the car.
I don't have cats but Gumdrop ignored the resident cat at my vets office. She has been good with the children she has met briefly on walks.
Gumdrop has a gentle nature and is a very special little girl, just waiting for her perfect forever home to come along.
