BIRDIE is a two-year-old petite "pocket" setter with a svelte feminine appearance.  She is very slender and fine-boned and weighs only 24 pounds.  She is an orange belton, with uniform dark ticking throughout her body.  A patch circles her right eye.  Birdie has all the beauty and excellent temperament you expect from an English Setter in a small cuddly package.

She is house-trained and excellent with children and other dogs.  She sleeps happily on a sheepskin mat in her crate.  She would probably enjoy sleeping with you, too.

Do not be fooled by her size or delicate beauty.  She has the strong prey drive of a setter three times her size.  Outdoors the laid back inside Birdie disappears and the alert, enthusiastic, energetic Birdie emerges.  She is intensely alert and dashes after any bird or squirrel she sees. She walks easily, but a fence is necessary to keep her safe while in the yard.  She cannot be trusted near a cat or a canary.

Birdie exemplifies the breed.  She has youth, beauty, energy, and a gentle nature - what's not to like?
