Hi, I'm UTAH. My foster mom decided it was high time to update my bio since she’s gotten to know me much better now. She really, really loves me (of course), but she knows that I need my very own home. Actually, I could share it with another doggie or two – I do like other dogs. I can also stand cats as long as they don’t want to cuddle. There is a cat in my foster home that loves to cuddle with us dogs and he drives me nuts. I am about 4 years old and I’m a Tri-color guy.

I’ve learned a lot in my foster home. I’ve learned that people can be very nice and that it is OK to be inside the house. I’m now house trained and crate trained. My foster mom thinks I was probably an outside dog because it took me awhile to get used to being inside – but, I did it. I’m still kind of a lanky boy. Food is OK but unless it is people food, I’m just not really interested. My foster mom does let me have green beans on my food and I really like that. Oh, and I also ride very nicely in the truck – preferably right next to you.

I’m pretty birdy and really love to bark at those squirrels. I can be pretty active outside but love to be inside and just lay around and be with you. I can put my head in my foster mom’s lap and just let her pet me for hours. I recently visited a friend of my foster mom’s. She boards dogs so I got to meet lots of other dogs, including a hound mix and a kind of obnoxious little schnauzer. When their mom came to pick them up and she met me, she just loved me. Her dogs are therapy dogs and she thought I might make a good therapy dog because I am so gentle and love touch. She may be right; I am a really neat guy. Everybody that meets me thinks so. Unfortunately they usually already have enough dogs. So that leaves me still looking for a home of my own. I know my foster mom would love to keep me but she has to be able to rescue other dogs that need help (like I did) so we're looking for a home that really wants a guy just like me.

So if you think you would like me to come and live with you, you should contact these ACES people. I really am a great guy and you won’t be sorry.

UTAH'S SUCCESS STORY 1/08

Hi everyone!!!

I know this is late in coming, but I wanted to tell everyone how well Utah is doing! Or as I have nicknamed him, "Mr. Sloppy -lips". :-)

He is starting to really fill out nicely and is becoming a chow-hound. I have no problems getting him to eat and am approaching the point that I need to stop saying "oh, poor puppies, let's get you another treat". He is super sweet and currently has his head in my lap so I am typing one handed. He has proven to be great with kids, but doesn't seem too keen on other dogs. He seems to have little patience for other dogs and prefers to be left alone.

I think Utah and I are a great match for each other and I thank all of you for helping me find him!  Hope the holidays were good to you all!
